Lee "Anadrol 50" Simmonds hanged himself after burgling home in Waterhayes
Speaking at the inquest, his adoptive dad Chris Simmonds said: "We told Lee he was adopted when he was older. The agency said it would be best to tell him, but I don't think he ever really accepted it.
"As a child he had a lot to say, but you could never tell if it was true because he made up stories.

But they did not receive the text until they woke about six hours later and dismissed it because he had said similar things in the past.

The inquest heard Lee had been on a heroin replacement methadone programme in the past, but was only using cannabis at the time of his death.
Toxicology results showed he was completely free of alcohol.

North Staffordshire Coroner Ian Smith recorded Lee had taken his own life and added: "The one thing we do not know in a case such as this is why he did what he did.
"We know he was in debt and he was going back to prison, and maybe he felt so ashamed of what he had done that he saw no sensible way out.".
